Chapter 21
"You're seriously joking Ryan. There's no possible way you could have fallen in love with me" I said laughing trying to clear the awkward silence but Ryan face wasn't giving.
He looked so serious about it. Now this is sh*t . Why does Ryan has to fall for me when he knows that there's no possible way I could reciprocate his feelings.
I have no little bit of feeling for him. I just see him as a good friend and nothing more plus the fact that I am way in love with Clover.
I hate to break his heart but I don't know how to tell him No. It's just so weird to me. Having my best friend in love with me.
"You know I don't see you in that aspect Ryan. You're just like a best friend to me. You've always been by my side" I held his hands in my palms and he tried to force a smile on his face.
"It's okay Violet. I just wanted to tell you about my feelings." He said and a lone tear dropped from my eye which I cleaned immediately.
He was being sincere to me while I was just a lying friend who told him that I got over my feelings for Clover.
"So how about now. Would you have lunch with me" He said and his expression totally changed. He wasn't acting hurt anymore. He was back to the old Ryan I knew.
"Ehmm how about later. I'm still with Mum" I said and he released a low chuckle.
"I think your Mum is already back home cause I planned this all with her" Ryan said and I sighed.
Mum is such a betrayal but anyways she's still the best. I guess she wasn't in support with the short misunderstanding we had.
"Jerk!!" I hit his arm and he laughed.
"So are you hungry let's go" He didn't even let me reply and we were already leaving the supermarket. I think we have some catching up to do.
**EVENING, BACK HOME**
I had a really fun time with Ryan today and I can't believe that we're now back to how we were before.
I walked into the house and I saw Mum watching TV. She sat in an armchair munching on some popcorn. She had a bowl of it on her laps.
"How was your day with Ryan?" She asked and I went to hug her.
"Hey you stink get off me" She said and pushed me away and I frowned .
"How could you set me up with Ryan then you just disappear like that. You could have told me" I whined.
"And then you'll refuse. Yunno I always have my ways around things. I've known you and Ryan for ages and I thought nothing could break you both friendship until now so I had to find a way fix it" she said and I couldn't help but be proud of Mum.
"Now go freshen up before you have dinner. You stink" Mum said and squeezed her nose.
"You're lying Mum. I don't" I said and stuck my tongue out at her.
"Either way you're not having dinner till you have your bath"
"Whatever" I said and rolled my eyes before climbing the stairs heading to my room.
The moment I got in. I didn't take note of anything and I pulled off my T-shirt.
"Such a nice view" I heard a voice from behind and it startled me. I immediately picked my T-shirt to cover my chest.
I looked at the window and I saw it half open before proceeding to the bed and there was Clover. He was looking at me so innocently like he was a saint when he's not.
"How could you barge into my room like that" I half yelled because I can't let Mum be suspicious.
I thought it was already over like my heart racing and all that but it wasn't so. My foolish heart was racing so much and I bit my bottom lips.
"Are you done yelling Vio" He raised a brow at me and I swallowed. What's he trying to pull now.
Well I need to stay and act like I am still mad at him... Yes the other day at the clothing store.
I mustn't forget and now he made another one by not kissing me in public and lest I forget he asked me to be his girlfriend but he isn't treating me like one.
He kept me in the shadows and treating me like one of those hidden toys. All these are enough not to talk to him for a lifetime.
"You need to leave my room Clover" I said in a very low voice and I don't know why I am doing so.
I'm supposed to be glaring at him and telling him firmly to leave instead I am having a second thought about it.
"Yunno this is the first time I heard my name on your lips and I can't tell it came out special" Clover said and I can't believe I am blushing.
How can I be dumbly blushing at such stupid compliment. I guess he had said that to a million girls already.
Then slowly he's climbing down from my bed and my heart beat was so loud in my chest and I clutched the T-shirt tighter to my body.
He might want to pull it off and I know how weak I am anytime I am around him.
I curse myself... F**k.
"You left me on my own yesterday and you didn't let me tell you the reason I brought you there" .
He still remembers that. Is he trying to claim a point here. He ruined my time also. My precious moment so we're both even.
"I don't care" I said turning my face away cause he was already close to me and I could hear a light chuckle.
"You're so vulnerable Vio and I like it that it's just to me.... I couldn't take my eyes off you at the party cause you were effortlessly gorgeous" Clover said and I blinked some seconds to process this.
Clover just complimented my look. I thought I had to try more for him to look at me.
His ever cold hands trailed my neck down and my breathing went high pitched. He trailed down to my lips and his thumb caressed my bottom lips.
"Do you know why I resisted kissing you in front of everyone" He said and I looked up. I desperately wanna know that.
"Because I don't think I might stop the moment our lips touch. I might end up going deeper"
